I would go ahead and choose a lacquer from Reranch.com. It is very forgiving. You can spray some coats, let it cure, lay down some more, then carefully wet sand and polish. This will be fairly fast, and will give you a cool color. The clear coats definitely add deep and shine, but are not a must.James M.
